On August 8, 2020, it was announced that production would not begin until the industry debate between crew unions and Hollywood unions over COVID-19 testing comes to an end. Production for the season is expected to start up in August 2020. On June 8, 2020, it was announced that production would resume in the following weeks, with COVID-19 production safety policies being put into place by Hollywood North's government Creative BC.
